FAQs
- Do I have to be in shape or coordinated to dance?
- We believe dance is for everyone! Our students range in age from 4 to 74 and have varying levels of ability. Dance is a great way to get into shape and/or maintain fitness. As always, consult your doctor before beginning any new exercise regimen.
- How old do you have to be to dance en pointe?
- Dancing en pointe is the culmination of many years of technical ballet training. There is no specific age when dancers are ready to dance en pointe. Rather, the instructor informs a student when she is ready to advance to this level.
- Do you allow boys in your classes?
- Absolutely, dance is for everyone!
- What is the dress code? (See Class Info page for complete lists)
- Pre-Ballet: light pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes
- Ballet 1: light blue leotard, ballet shoes & tights to match dancer's skin tone
- Ballet 2: lavender leotard, ballet shoes & tights to match dancer's skin tone
- Ballet 3: burgundy or black leotard, ballet shoes & tights to match dancer's skin tone
- Tap: designated class attire, tan oxford-style tap shoes
- Pre-Pointe/Pointe: designated ballet class attire, ballet shoes with ribbons or pointe shoes
- Lyrical/Contemporary: solid-colored leotard, solid-colored tights or leggings
- Hip Hop: tank tops or tees, leggings or joggers, black low-top dance sneakers
- NOTE: Both tights and leotards have cotton-lined panels and act as underwear for the dancer (think swimsuit). If a sports bra must be worn, it should match the leotard color and not be seen. Also, for safety reasons, no jewelry is to be worn in dance classes and hair is to be secured away from the face and neck.
- Is it a flat rate or does the price vary monthly?
- Tuition is a flat rate September through June, regardless of the number of class meetings each month. Each dance year includes approximately 40-45 class meetings and rehearsals.
- Do you offer private lessons? What is the price?
- We do. Private lessons are $50 for a half hour and $80 for a full hour. Contact us at director@studio360arts.com to check our instructors' availability.
- When is payment due?
- Monthly tuition is automatically drafted on the 2nd of the month, from September - June. Declined payments or payments received after the 10th of the month require a $15 late fee. For your convenience, payments can be made through our website's Parent Portal.
- Are parents allowed inside the class to watch?
- Classes are closed to the public to allow dancers to learn without distraction.
- What is the missed class/inclement weather policy?
- No refunds are made for voluntary withdrawal, inclement weather, illness, missed classes, or holidays. Missed classes can be made up by taking another same-level class. Please contact your instructor to make arrangements.
- Typically, we adhere to the weather closings of our local public school systems. Watch our social media pages for updates.
- Do you have a recital? Is it mandatory?
- Each year, studio 360 has 2-3 performance opportunities for our dancers. Performing for an audience is an important skill to have, therefore we strongly encourage participation in our concerts but do not require it.
- How do I keep up with studio news?
- We’re a family here at studio 360 and want everyone to be “in the know”. To this end, we email monthly memos to our dance parents with info on schedules, concerts, holiday closings, etc. News and events can also be found on our website and our social media platforms. Follow us!
