8.17.2021:
We will continue to follow the COVID-19 protocols required by ODU, which include temperature checks, hand sanitizer, and the wearing of masks in the building when not in the studio. In the studio, we will be socially distanced whenever possible, masks optional. If you are dropping off a student or waiting in the hallway, you must be masked the entire time, per ODU policies. Dancers should bring their water bottles to class.
We will continue to have a Zoom option for Ballet I, II, and III students.
It goes without saying, but if your dancer or anyone in your family has a fever or symptoms, please do not come to in-person class. Additionally, in the event of a positive case of COVID-19, please notify Miss Tiffanee immediately so we can properly notify others of exposure.
As these last 18+ months have demonstrated, this is a fluid situation and additional protocols may be added. We appreciate your ongoing flexibility and care as we navigate these strange times.
8.1.2020: As we prepare to reopen on August 17, your safety is still our priority. Guidelines may be updated at any time with new information. We reserve the right to offer additional safety precautions outside of government guidelines to protect our students, staff, and families. While we do our best to provide the safest environment possible and minimize risks, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. By attending classes, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Current studio 360 protocols include wearing face coverings upon entering and exiting the building and bringing your own water bottles and exercise mats. We ask that students wash dance attire after each class. Dancers must also social distance in hallways, bathrooms, and studios. Parents are asked to wait in their cars or outside instead of in our hallway. These protocols must be followed to protect our studio 360 dance family and to ensure our continued access to the dance studios at Old Dominion University.
4.5.2020: We have been monitoring the CDC and the Governor of Virginia’s updates concerning the COVID-19 virus affecting the U.S. We will be closed for the duration of the Spring 2020 session as the health and safety of our staff and families is our highest priority.
We are faced with the most challenging situation of our 17+ years in business. We are trying to come to terms with suspended careers, socially distant relationships, and the future of this studio. Per our contract, we cannot offer refunds. We do not have an income right now, so breaking policy to give refunds could close this business permanently. Moving forward, tuition is suspended for May through July. If you have not paid for March, that tuition is due and you may pay through the Parent Portal on our website or by mailing a check to "studio360 Performing Arts" at PO Box 14056, Norfolk, VA 23518.
We KNOW this is difficult and we WANT to see you and your family dancing and thriving. So, to that end, for your April tuition, we are not only offering our amazing studio360 Performing Arts instructors sessions via video but we have also partnered with other dance studios around the country to give you access to a myriad of instructional video selections. Also, free of charge to you, we are giving you 4 months of free access to CLI, a program created by "So You Think You Can Dance” performers Twitch and Allison! This is a great resource as they have an extensive video library of 600+ technique classes in all genres, including ballet, hip hop, Pilates, yoga, and many more classes for the whole family. This special link is for our paying clientele only, as our way of serving you and your precious artists.
Regarding our summer camps, we are in communication with ODU , and, per federal & the Virginia Governor's guidelines, we are cautiously optimistic about hosting summer camps in late August. More information to come as it becomes available.
Our end-of-year performance cannot be re-booked yet as ODU's facilities are closed through August, 2020. Even if we were to attempt a recital, we would need at least 8-12 more weeks of classes to be prepared to perform once live classes are permitted. We still plan to present “Pepita’s Story” in Winter 2020.
Please be patient as we navigate this very challenging situation. Thank you and may God bless you and keep you safe!
Thank you for being a part of the studio360 Performing Arts family. It breaks all of our hearts not to see your shining faces and artistic exuberance. Let us pray for a swift ending to this virus and a healthy return to wholeness, relationships, and the life we love.
Keep Dancing. Never Stop Dancing
